At VRC Guitars, we’ve chosen Stringjoy 9.5–46 strings as the house set on every guitar we build. We like the balance they provide between comfort, tuning stability, and responsiveness, while their tension profile gives the strings a consistent feel across the fretboard. For us, it’s a small but important part of the overall setup. We want every VRC Guitar to arrive feeling familiar, comfortable, and ready to play right out of the case. When I set out making electric guitars, I was not planning on launching a new boutique electric guitar brand. The journey progressed very quickly from hobby to custom builds, to a boutique brand with several models. An early decision was helped by Lollar Pickups. With the Monolith pickup in hand, I could start prototyping everything around it.

One of the easiest decisions we had to make is how we were going to get our wiring and controls produced - partner with Obsidian Wire as our OEM.
